Commonly termed 'fish farming' but broadly the commercial growing of marine or freshwater animals and plants in water. The farming of aquatic organisms, including fish, mollusks and aquatic plants, i.e., some form of intervention in the rearing process, such as stocking, feeding, protection from predators, fertilizing of water, etc. Farming implies individual or corporate ownership of the farmed organisms. |
